Sembcorp Energy India Limited (SEIL) manages Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) responsibility as its core value. To further strengthen the safety culture and secure a positive behavioural change within the work place, SEIL has implemented and integrated Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) into its safety systems across all the assets.
SEIL has a target to reduce Unsafe Behaviour in increments. SEIL believes that most of the safety incidents are caused due to unsafe behaviour. ISO 45001:2018 mandates that human competence and behavioural elements need to be considered in risk assessment and as an internal issue for managing risks.
A BBS steering committee led by the Business Heads Thermal and Renewable BU’s, including Plant Heads, Senior HODs and Safety Heads guides and monitors implementation of the BBS implementation action plan at SEIL.
As part of BBS, unsafe behaviour are being spotted and corrected on spot. Both safe and at-risk behaviours are being tracked, analyzed and displayed.
